A microdose is 0.1–0.3g (sub-perceptual, taken every 3rd day for mood and focus). A museum dose is 0.3–1g (light social buzz, mild visual softening). A threshold dose is 1–2g (the low end of a full experience). A standard recreational dose is 2–3.5g — one eighth — the classic full trip. A heroic dose is 4–5g and higher, reserved for experienced users in ceremonial or therapeutic contexts with a sober sitter present. Different strains hit differently: 2g of Penis Envy is not the same as 2g of Golden Teacher.
Weigh your dose on a scale accurate to 0.01g. Options: (1) eat them raw — earthy, chalky, works fine, (2) grind and brew as tea with lemon juice for faster onset and less nausea, (3) blend into a smoothie or wrap in nut butter, (4) grind into powder and load into empty gel caps at home. Eating on an empty stomach speeds onset to 30–45 minutes; eating with food slows onset to 60–90 minutes but reduces nausea.
Onset 30–90 minutes after ingestion, peak at 2–3 hours, come-down at 4–5 hours, back to baseline by 6–8 hours. Residual afterglow and heightened mood can persist 24–48 hours. Plan a full afternoon or evening.
