Is psilocybin legal in Ann Arbor, Michigan?
Not exactly — it is decriminalized at the local level. In September 2020, Ann Arbor became one of the first cities in the United States to decriminalize entheogenic plants and fungi, including psilocybin mushrooms. City Council Resolution R-20-370 made the investigation and arrest of individuals for planting, cultivating, purchasing, transporting, distributing, engaging in practices with, or possessing entheogenic plants and fungi the lowest law enforcement priority in the City of Ann Arbor. Mush-Room operates in Ann Arbor under that local enforcement policy. Psilocybin remains a Schedule I controlled substance under federal law; Resolution R-20-370 deprioritizes local enforcement but does not legalize possession, sale, or use.
